After i watched this performance, i feel in love. Because i actually listened to the lyrics and the meaning. I thought this song was just another catchy song when i listened to it on my iPod but its more than that. No words can explain how much i love this song. I’m a teenager in high school, and this is what i want and imagined myself as. It’s scary to know that this song explains multiple types of persons in one song. A drunky teen, a whore, popular teen, and even a outgoing teen. Marina is an genius. This song is just too perfect.
Yeah I wish I’d been a, wish I’d been a teen, teen idle
Wish I’d been a prom queen fighting for the title
Instead of being sixteen and burning up a bible
Feeling super, super (super!) suicidal
The wasted years, the wasted youth
The pretty lies, the ugly truth
And the day has come where I have died
Only to find I’ve come alive
Who the fuck writes these lyrics? Marina obviously! This song should earn a Grammy. These are the moments when you get yourself a book to fan yourself, fangirling. If i saw this performance live, i would die at how flawless. I might as well cry. Oh my. I’ve been listening to this song constantly all day. And i’m sure that’s going to continue.
I’m sorry i keep blogging about this song, its just too perfect. I can’t resist not blogging about this. Take this post as a promo for her music. She deserves the fame.
